Kid Friendly February Events in Washington, D.C.

It’s February which means Valentine’s Day, World Wetlands Day, Groundhog Day and it’s Black History Month. I initially started this blog as a calendar plugin of events, but the calendar was hard to read (and no one was viewing it) so this is an attempt at keeping with the original goal of this blog, to organize all the kid friendly events happening throughout Washington, D.C. and bring them together in a useful way. You can expect to see this style of post at the beginning of every month!

Indoor Playspaces in D.C.

It may be a mild winter but it’s still cold enough to justify playing indoors, here are some Washington, D.C. spots where your kids can get their bugs out.

Wegman’s Wonderplace, located in the Museum of American History is a softish indoor playground for babies and toddlers, next door is a space for older kids.

In addition to being in the Museum of The Native Indian which has excellent food, ImagiNATIONs is a spot with daily programming and activities such as kayak paddling and igloo building.

If you haven’t been to the The National Building Museum you need to drop everything and go ASAP. It’s an amazing spot for a playdate and there are two distinct rooms for children.
