Do DC with Kids is a year old! This time has gone by so quickly and I can see how much better I’ve gotten since my first post. I’ve invested in a domain name, a camera, a logo and a boat load of time into content marketing and social media. But none of this would mean anything without my readers. So thank you, thank you so much!

And I’m happy to say that four of my favorite brands have donated some awesome gifts more me to give away. You can enter each giveaway on a daily basis, and if you buy a t-shirt you earn 5 additional entries.

The giveaway ends next Saturday

Rebecca of Tea with Mrs B has generously offered a service that she reserves for VIP clients only. The winner of this giveaway will receive an evening of family manners coaching to take place over dinner- the 30 minute dining etiquette session can happen in a home or at a restaurant. The location must be within 5 miles of the Tea with Mrs. B tea room. This is the most sought after service Mrs. B offers and I wish I could keep it for myself, but I won’t! ($175 value) a Rafflecopter giveaway

SCOUT Bags

Do DC with Kids is the premier mommy blog in DC chock full of activities and insider tips about Washington DC with children. The blog just turned a year old!

A SCOUT bag is now a permanent part of our adventures, behind Ooey is the Pleasure Chest. A cooler deigned to hold 4 bottles of wine, or a bunch of sandwiches and sparkiling water if you’re like me!

I learned of the SCOUT brand earlier this year, I’d been invited to their summer soiree where I met the owners of the company. This DC based brand of bags which oozes with southern charm in it’s bright pastels and customizable monogramming is on the surface, not my style. However, the bags are light and hyper-functional and Deb and Ben Johns the husband and wife duo behind the company are simply wonderful. I have three of their bags now and I use them daily. The classic tote is a must have and I also recommend you get yourself a large cooler bag. You can see me almost daily with a pleasure chest in tow, and within it I have my lunch and far too many cans of LaCroix.  I won’t tattle if you don’t use this $75 online gift card in the back to school section and instead splurge on something personal! ($75 value)

Philz will always hold a special place in my heart. We live around the corner from their first DC location. When Ooey was a year old and not sleeping we would head there for a change of scenery. Ooey, my husband and I would all nibble on their avocado toast and sip on tea until the shop closed for the evening. If you go during the day, and I recommend that you do, try their mint mojito iced coffee, it is AMAZING! Additionally their choice to add mint to their coffees blows my mind, so good! I’ll be giving away 2 $25 gift cards so hurry up and enter the giveaway before I’m tempted to use them!

Nook is without a doubt the most aesthetically pleasing play space I have yet to encounter. It’s a short drive out to Virgina but the visit is a treat. There’s a snack bar (for moms like me that forget to bring food for my kid), free coffee and tea, and a gorgeous sitting room for parents. I wrote a full review which you can see, here, in short Nook is amazing and you should scoop up one of these two day passes. ($20 value)

Show the entire neighborhood how much you love Do DC with Kid by wearing a tank top!

I hired the fabulous Giulietta Pinna of Limonata Creative Consulting to design my logo. Working with Giulietta taught me a few things: 1, being helpful always leads to good things (I called to pick her brain and decided to hire her) and 2, creative work deserves monetary compensation. Navigating the money side of being a professional blogger has been confusing and I hope I haven’s stepped on any toes when I say I can’t/won’t do free advertising. All that to say if you’d like to support me and my efforts here- buy a shirt, I’d be so grateful! Find the shirt, here.
