The ultimate family friendly guide to Washington DC in August!

Hello, August!

It’s August, the last hurrah of summer. A bittersweet month before fall and the start school are on their way. I hope you’re having a great season, I’m making the most of the summer, specifically, trying to visit a new place every week before co-op daycare starts in the fall.

This month has some great events- on August 5th & 6th the Kogod Courtyard at the Smithsonian American Art Museum will become a video game  arcade, the Alphabet Rockers are back in town on the 9th and 10th, and outdoor concerts and movies appear throughout town this month. And, last but certainly not least restaurant week starts on the 14th and continues through the 20th, can you say date-night?!

If you’re in need of some gal time try going to a Behold Her event, I did one a few weeks ago and it was uh-mazing. Behold Her is a woman only meet up group that involves portrait taking and candid conversation about tough topics. I attend a similar group on the regular (no portraits, but lots of coffee) and thats my MOPs (Mothers of Preschoolers) group. MOPs will start back up in September and if you have a pre-school aged kid, consider joining this group!

DC Duck tour In Washington DC is more fun than you'd think.

Go on a duck tour! It’s a surprisingly fun way to see the city!
