Your Wednesday mornings are about to get a whole lot cooler, Canal Park to host free events for kids this summer

The Capitol Riverfront is quickly becoming the only place I see myself hanging out this summer. You may have heard it referred to as the Navy Yard, but it’s the area of DC that houses the Nationals Stadium, the Yards Park and Ice Cream Jubilee.

And this summer it’s gonna be even better because Canal Park will be hosting a 12 week free concert series for kids (Kids in Canal) on Wednesday mornings. The Kids in Canal series will start on June 7th with Rainbow Rock Band. (read to the bottom of the post where I included the rest of the summer happenings at the Capitol Riverfront.)

The Canal Park is segmented into three sections; a northern, middle and southern block. The northern block is a green space, as is the middle block and the southern block has dancing water fountains and a seasonal outdoor ice rink. The series takes place in the middle block which is on S Street SE between K & L Streets.
